Toka Leya offers a remote location on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River situated in the western sector of the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park in Zambia. Accommodation is available in 12 safari-style tents and family units are also available. Toka Leya welcomes families and the pizza oven is a highlight. Toka Leya also offers a swimming pool. The Zambezi River offers good fishing opportunities including Tiger Fishing as well as incredible bird-watching.
Toka Leya Description
Toka Leya Camp offers spectacular views of the mighty Zambezi River and some of its islands. Toka Leya Camp offers 12 spacious safari-style tents with en-suite facilities. Wooden walkways link the units to the main area offering a light footprint on this superb wildlife area. Each tent offers cool wooden flooring and a wooden viewing deck offering spectacular views. The eastern side and main area of Toka Leya is situated underneath the trees. The western side is in a more open setting. Family units offer a private location. The main area at Toka Leya consists of a dining, lounge and bar area complemented by an infinity pool, with meals served on the sundeck, the pool deck and dining room all overlooking the Zambezi. The pizza oven is a highlight with younger guests. Toka Leya also has a curio shop offering a selection of local crafts.
Toka Leya Game Viewing and Activities
Activities at Toka Leya include a tour of the Victoria Falls on the Zambian side, game drives within Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park, river cruises and guided bush walks. Other activities on offer in the area at an additional charge include sunset cruises, helicopter flights, micro-lighting, canoeing, jet boating, white water rafting and fishing. Game drives into the Mosi-oa-Tunya Park offer sightings of general game species such as buffalo, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest and impala. There is rich birdlife here too, including several sought-after species such as African Finfoot, Half-collared Kingfisher, African Skimmer (seasonal), Schalow's Turaco and Rock Pratincole (seasonal). Good birding can be enjoyed around the camp itself, on boat cruises and out on game drives. The Zambezi River offers some fishing opportunities and tiger fishing is a memorable experience for keen fishermen, particularly during the warmer months (October - December). There are several varieties of bream (Tilapia).
