Kayila Lodge Highlights


Kayila Lodge is situated on the banks of the beautiful Zambezi River on the Zambian side, overlooking the Mana Pools National Park shoreline. Kayila Lodge offers a remote location in a private wildlife sanctuary and offers comfortable accommodation, beautiful views and incredible wildlife viewing. Kayila offers comfortable accommodation and can accommodate a total of 20 guests in cool thatch chalets with en-suite facilities. Kayila also offers a honeymoon suite with a romantic sunken bath. Kayila caters for families and children of 12 years and older are welcome. Activities at Kayila Lodge include day and night game drives, guided bush walks, sundowner cruises, canoeing, hiking as well as fishing.


Kayila Lodge Description


Kayila Lodge caters for a maximum of 20 guests in 6 twin stone and thatch chalets with en-suite facilities including a shower, toilet and hand basin. Kayila also offers a Honeymoon suite with a romantic sunken bath, shower, toilet and hand basin; a double bed Tree house with a lower level shower, toilet and hand basin offers an adventurous alternative; a duplex chalet with two separate twin rooms both with en-suite shower, toilet and hand basin as well as a family room with one double and two single beds with en-suite shower, toilet and hand basin are available. All chalets at Kayila offer a veranda with deck chairs and a private view of the river. The main area at Kayila consists of a thatched central lounge and dining area with a natural rock plunge pool.


Kayila Lodge Game Viewing


Kayila Lodge offers fantastic wildlife viewing and guests can expect to see wildlife including elephant, buffalo, impala, puku, bushbuck, kudu, zebra, warthog, baboon, hippo, crocodile and an abundant species of bird life. Night game drives will reveal nocturnal species such as hyena, porcupine, civet, genet, honey badger and leopard are occasionally seen. There are also lion on the estate and wild dog occur further east in the Lower Zambezi National Park. There are a variety of activities to choose from including bush walks with an armed guide, hikes and game viewing by boat. Kayila is also able to offer its guests walking trails and safaris with experienced, knowledgeable guides within the Chiawa Game Management Area. The fishing in this area is world famous, especially for the fighting Tiger-fish. Traditional spinning as well as fly fishing excursions are available.
