Chongwe River House Highlights

Chongwe River House offers a unique location on the beautiful Chongwe River in the Lower Zambezi National Park in Zambia. Chongwe River House is a private house and caters for a maximum of eight guests. Guests will have the privilege of enjoying their own private chef and butler and meals and activities will be planned around the guests and their preferences. Families are welcome at Chongwe River House and children of 7 years and older are accepted. A variety of activities for children are hosted at Chongwe River House and child minders are also available. Chongwe River House is open from April to November. All activities are exclusive to the house guests. Guests can enjoy a variety of activities including canoeing, boating, day game drives, night drives, fishing and walking safaris accompanied by an experienced guide.

Chongwe River House Game Viewing and Activities

Chongwe River House offers visitors fantastic game viewing opportunities. Game viewing is available on canoes, game vehicle during the day as well as at night, by boat and fishing and walking safaris are also available. The game viewing is magnificent with approximately 50 mammal and 400 bird species available. The Chongwe River is superb for canoeing or walking. Fishing is a major activity in the Zambezi and guests can fly fish as well as cast and reel. There is a strict catch and release policy for most of the species. The key species are Tiger-fish, Vundu, (similar to a "catfish" or barbell) and banded tilapia. Guests can expect to see elephants, buffalo, hippo, crocodile and if they are lucky, lion.
