The River Club is situated on the banks of the legendary Zambezi River, 18km upstream from the world-famous Victoria Falls. For guests looking for some adventure, there is no shortage of activities at The River Club. Zambia is famous for offering exciting outdoor activities including white water rafting, bungee jumping, abseiling, and helicopter flights over Victoria Falls.


The River Club Description


The River Club is a luxurious Edwardian-style house consisting of a lounge, large dining room, extensive library and wide veranda where guests can enjoy breakfasts and teas daily. Beautiful gardens provide the perfect spot for lunch underneath the trees. The pool seems part of the river itself together with a secluded deck, hammocks and sun loungers. River Club also has a wellness centre with a treatment room for manicures, pedicures, facials and massages as well as a sauna, Jacuzzi and mini gym with electronic exercise equipment. River Club offers ten luxury chalets situated amongst the riverine vegetation; the luxurious bedrooms offer en-suite bathrooms, most being split-level and one side is completely open to the river offering views of the Zambezi from both the bed and bathtub.


The River Club Activities


Even though River Club is not a game lodge, wildlife including elephants and hippos can often be seen in the Zambezi National Park. The bird-life in the area is fantastic, including several rarer species such as the African Finfoot, the Half Collared Kingfisher, the African Skimmer and the Collared Palm Thrush. For the avid bird watcher there are nature trails around The River Club as well as boat cruises and island walks. For the keen fishermen, Tiger fishing is available and a memorable experience particularly during the warmer months. There are various varieties of Bream, for the more sporting, try catching them on fly. Activities included at The River Club are visits to the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park, sundowner boat trips (island lunches can be arranged), a visits to the historical Livingstone town, Livingstone museum and the Railway museum, a visit to a local African village (Simonga), a visits to the Zambian side of the Victoria Falls as well as Croquet, Bush golf and Nature Walks on the property.
