Nanzhila Plains Safari Camp is located in the remote southern sector of Kafue National Park in Zambia. The vast open spaces provide privacy and exclusivity. The birdlife is a big attraction for many visitors, with 491 bird species recorded. The camp is small, intimate and remote and offers guests a true safari experience with breathtaking African sunsets and incredible game viewing opportunities.

Nanzhila Plains Safari Camp Description

Nanzhila Plains Camp offers a variety of accommodation options; guests can choose between cottages, safari tents as well as camping. There are 3 luxury thatched cottages accommodating 6 guests offering a peaceful setting blending into the area with spectacular views in front of the lodge. The cottages are spacious and offer en-suite facilities with hot showers and toilets. Guests also have the choice of staying in one of 3 en-suite safari tents that can accommodate up to 6 people or opt for camping in the nearby camp site which offers a rustic experience with bucket showers and bush toilets. The thatched Boma area is raised and situated underneath the trees. It contains the lounge and dining area, bar and verandah, with superb views of the dambo; on the adjoining Kjope is the communal open-air fire place offering the ideal spot for cosy evenings.

Nanzhila Plains Safari Camp Game Viewing

Nanzhila Plains Safari Camp offers incredible game viewing and guests can expect to see a number of antelope species including Roan and Sable, Reedbuck, Defassa Waterbuck, Oribi, Hartebeest and Eland as well as all the popular carnivores, with a strong population of Wild Dog and Cheetah. The birdlife is fantastic throughout the year and offers some of the best birding opportunities in Zambia; sightings can almost be guaranteed of the endemic Black-cheeked Lovebird, the Wattled Crane, Ground Hornbill and Saddle-billed Stork amongst others. Activities include twice daily game drives in custom developed open 4x4 vehicles accompanied by professional guides, guided bush walks, birding, bush trails and visits to Lake Itezhi-Tezhi, cultural visit to Shezongo village as well as night drives.
