Mukambi Safari Lodge Description
Mukambi Safari Lodge offers guests a choice in 3 accommodation types; guests can choose between family villas, chalets as well as traditional safari tents offering a peaceful and private setting close to the Kafue River. The chalets are luxurious and offer en-suite facilities as well as private verandas. The family villa is spacious and offer 2 bedrooms with en-suite facilities, a living room as well as a big viewing deck. The safari tents have no electricity; the tents are situated underneath a cool thatch roof and shared ablution facilities are available with hot and cold showers. Oil lamps provide lighting at night. The main attraction at the lodge is the three large viewing decks offering guests on-site game viewing as well as spectacular views of the river. The central area of the lodge consists of a bar, lounge and dining area. The lodge also has a swimming pool.
Mukambi Safari Lodge Game Viewing
Kafue National Park is one of Africa's prime game parks and it hosts 158 species of mammal, 481 species of bird and 58 species of fish. The area offers prolific birding as well as fishing opportunities. The wide range of habitats in Kafue National Park, including riverine forests, miombo woodlands, flood plains and grassy dambos, park-like savannah and almost impenetrable thickets, provide the most beautiful African backdrops to a wide diversity of animal and bird life. Guests can expect to see a variety of wildlife, including hippo, crocodile, warthog, impala, puku, bushbuck, kudu, hartebeest, sable, waterbuck, buffalo, elephant, lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena, and wild dog, plus many smaller species. The bird life is abundant with almost 300 species recorded in the area.
