Lufupa Tented Camp is situated in the northern parts of the Kafue National Park at the confluence of the Kafue River and the Lufupa Channel offering magnificent views and breathtaking sunsets. Lufupa Tented Camp offers one of the ultimate in riverine settings in an untouched and remote area offering a remote safari experience. The Kafue National Park is one of the largest national parks in Zambia and Africa and promises guests a wild and traditional safari experience. The area around Lufupa and Kafue rivers are filled with floodplains, lush riverine vegetation and dambos offering the ideal habitat for wildlife and birdlife. Lufupa is renowned for fantastic leopard sightings and elephant are often seen moving through the area. The birdlife in the Kafue National Park is world-acclaimed, with the Lufupa area offering well over 400 species including Pel's Fishing-Owl, African Finfoot and Half-collared Kingfisher.


Lufupa Tented Camp Description


Lufupa Tented Camp offers a remote location in the Kafue National Park in Zambia. Lufupa Tented Camp is small and intimate and offers only nine safari-style tents with en- suite facilities; hence guests are ensured of a personal safari experience. Each unit offers a private wooden deck promising spectacular views and magical sunsets over the river. The main area at Lufupa Tented Camp offers a relaxed atmosphere and consists of a central area, complete with a boma, fireplace, dining area and small plunge pool, situated on the edge of the magnificent Kafue River.


Lufupa Tented Camp Game Viewing and Activities


Kafue National Park is one of the largest parks in Africa and consists of 22 500 square kilometers. It is fed by three rivers, the Lufupa in the north-west and the Lunga and Kafue in the north-east offering the ideal habitat for an abundance of wildlife. In the far north of the Kafue is the Busanga Plains, one of Zambia's most significant wetland resources and one of the few areas in the world that remain wild and untouched. The Kafue National Park is home to the highest mammal species diversity in Zambia and offers 55 large mammal species and six cat species. The Lufupa area is home to puku and Defassa waterbuck, the Lichtenstein's hartebeest and warthog and elephant are often seen and hippo can be seen in the deep-water channels. The abundance of game is also a big attraction for predators, including leopard and lion and Serval is sometimes seen. The birdlife is fantastic with almost 500 species recorded in the Kafue National Park.
