Lufupa River Camp offers a superb location on the banks of the Kafue River. Lufupa River Camp offers nine comfortable en-suite tents and two of the rooms are suitable for families. Lufupa River Camp is offered on a bed-and-breakfast basis and activities can be booked and paid for additionally. Lufupa River Camp offers a vibrant bar; the Kafue River Café which offers a bar as well as a restaurant; a la carte meals and drinks are served during the day and early evening to guests of Lufupa River Camp and the nearby campsite.
Lufupa River Camp Game Viewing and Activities
Kafue National Park is one of the largest parks in Africa and consists of 22 500 square kilometers. It is fed by three rivers, the Lufupa in the north-west and the Lunga and Kafue in the north-east offering the ideal habitat for an abundance of wildlife. In the far north of the Kafue is the Busanga Plains, one of Zambia's most significant wetland resources and one of the few areas in the world that remain wild and untouched. The Kafue National Park is home to the highest mammal species diversity in Zambia and offers 55 large mammal species and six cat species. The Lufupa area is home to puku and Defassa waterbuck, the Lichtenstein's hartebeest and warthog and elephant are often seen and hippo can be seen in the deep-water channels. The abundance of game is also a big attraction for predators, including leopard and lion and Serval is sometimes seen. The birdlife is fantastic with almost 500 species recorded in the Kafue National Park.
