Kapinga Camp Highlights


Kapinga Camp is situated in the north-west corner of the Busanga Plains in the Kafue National Park; one of the largest parks in Zambia as well as Africa. Kapinga Camp is designed to blend in with the natural environment and offers an abundance of wildlife and predators. The birdlife at Kapinga Camp is fantastic and guests can enjoy some of the best birding in Zambia. The Kafue National Park and the Busanga Plains in particular offer diverse habitats with floodplains, miombo woodland and open grassy areas known as dambos offering a haven for wildlife and birdlife. Kapinga Camp is a small and offers only four luxury safari tents accommodating a total of eight guests; hence guests can be assured of a personal safari experience. Activities at Kapinga Camp include day game drives as well as night drives and guided bush walks accompanied by qualified and experienced guides.


Kapinga Camp Description


Kapinga Camp offers a light footprint and blends in with the environment; only natural products have been used to build the camp. Accommodation at Kapinga Camp are spacious and offers only four luxury safari tents catering for a maximum of eight guests, ensuring a personal and intimate safari experience. The tents at Kapinga as well as the main area are all shaded by a canopy of trees and built on raised wooden decks to enhance the beautiful view across the plains. The camp offers a vibrant atmosphere and lively colours were used to decorate the camp. The main area of Kapinga consists of a lounge, dining area, camp fire and small pool situated underneath a shady tree.


Kapinga Camp Game Viewing and Activities


Kapinga Camp offers a wide variety of exciting activities including game drives and guides bush walks with night drives being a highlight. Kapinga is perfectly located and home to many antelope species including lechwe, puku, roan antelope and oribi. Herds of wildebeest, zebra and buffalo are all commonly seen as well as smaller groups of Lichtenstein's hartebeest. The abundance of plains game is a big attraction for predators, including wild dog, cheetah and prides of lion. Kafue National Park is home to approximately 50 mammal species. A birder's special, the Böhm's Bee-eater, can be seen in the parking area of the camp. The predators on the Plains are dominated by a high density of lion, with species like cheetah and wild dog also present in certain areas.
