Beho Beho Camp is situated in the northern sector of Selous Game Reserve in Tanzania offering visitors an exclusive safari experience; known as one of the most unique and private camps in East Africa to visit. The emphasis at Beho Beho is on offering the devoted safari guest an extraordinary wildlife experience; guests can explore one of the largest conservation areas in the world either on foot, by boat or by vehicle. Accommodation at Beho Beho is superb and offers rustic luxury in spacious stone and thatch cottages with private verandas offering spectacular views. The Selous Game Reserve offers an abundance of wildlife and is home to over 1,000,000 large animals and over half of Tanzania's elephant population can be found here.
Beho Beho offers 8 private and airy cottages built of stone and palm thatch, tastefully decorated with king-sized beds, Zanzibar day beds, writing desks and comfortable furniture. The front of the cottage is completely open and continues onto a spacious veranda. The cottages can be secured at night with 'tented curtains'. Other facilities include a separate dressing room leading into an en-suite bathroom with twin basins, high flush toilet and an open air shower. The main area of Beho Beho offers a comfortable sitting and dining area situated underneath a large palm thatched roof with a billiards table. A swimming pool is available and offers superb views of the Kipalala Valley. The Eagle's nest offers private dining as well cosy areas where guests can relax. Meals are superb and can be served in the bush under the stars or in the formal dining area. Bush Breakfasts and picnics are also arranged for longer safaris.
Activities at Beho Beho include game drives in the early morning or evening as well as walking safaris. Guests can also visit Lake Tagalala and Maji Moto for boating safaris. The lake is surrounded by a number of natural springs which attracts incredible birdlife as well as hippo and crocodile. A short walk takes you to the hot sulphur springs, Maji Moto where guests can swim in the deep natural pools before returning to Beho Beho. Selous Game Reserve is one of Africa's true hidden gems and one of the wildest conservation areas consisting of an unbelievable 55,000 sq km. The Rufiji River is the largest river in East Africa and offers an abundance of wildlife and is home to over 1,000,000 large animals and over half of Tanzania's elephant population. One of the main attractions is the river itself offering one of the largest crocodile and hippo populations in Africa and an abundance of fish and some of the best water birding in the world.
