Wolwedans Dunes Lodge Description

Wolwedans Dunes Lodge offers nine luxurious and spacious chalets with en-suite bathrooms, a private veranda, which connects you to vast stretches of untouched sand. The blinds can open up and offer beautiful views and star-lit skies at night. The main complex consists of two lounges, a number of sundowner decks, a fireplace, a tea deck, a library, the wine cellar and two dining rooms. The lodge also offers a swimming pool, which is suspended above the sand. All communal areas of the lodge open out onto decks offering superb views.

Wolwedans Dunes Lodge Activities and Game Viewing

Activities available at Wolwedans Dunes Lodge include morning or afternoon nature drives which takes about 3-4 hours. Afternoon scenic drives are often combined with sunset in the dunes. Scenic flights are also a popular activity at Wolwedans. A highlight at NamibRand is hot-air ballooning offering the best viewpoint and a once in a lifetime experience. Photographic safaris are also available at Wolwedans. TokTokkie Trails are available on a separate concession on the reserve and offers guided desert walking trails in the south-east of NamibRand. The trail is two nights and can easily be integrated into a visit to Wolwedans. Guests can expect to see gemsbok, mountain and plains zebra, springbok, red hartebeest, bat-eared fox, spotted hyena, cape fox and African wildcat. The rocky areas are inhibited by kudu, klipspringer, baboon and leopard, while the dunes harbour a rich and diverse micro-fauna. The bird life is prolific and over a hundred species of birds have been recorded in the area.
