Sossusvlei Desert Lodge Description

Sossusvlei Desert Lodge offers ten luxurious and spacious stone and glass desert villas. Each air conditioned suite is tastefully decorated offering a private veranda, split level sitting area with fireplace, star-viewing window above the bed, en-suite glass-encased bathroom with shower and an outdoor shower. The suites are equipped with personal bar, CD system and a spotting scope. The split-level main lodge consist of glass and stone curves with walls of windows maximising the desert views. There are quiet and secluded hideaways, viewing decks, a bar, fireplace, dining room, well stocked wine cellar, main sitting room and terrace, mezzanine library stocked with books and CDs with viewing deck, Safari Shop, observatory and rim-flow pool.

Game Viewing near Sossusvlei Desert Lodge

Guests at Sossusvlei Desert Lodge can enjoy game drives in open 4x4 safari vehicles on the NamibRand Nature Reserve. Excursions to Sossusvlei and the Sesriem Canyon are also available. Guided nature walks and marked hiking trails are also an option. Guided four-wheel motorbike (ATV) excursions into the dunes (Children aged 16 and older permitted). Stargazing from the lodge's sophisticated observatory. Hot air ballooning and scenic flights over the Namib Desert are available at an additional cost. Guests can expect to see oryx, springbok, aardwolf, ostrich, hyena, bat-eared fox, Cape fox, Burchell's zebra and the endemic Hartmann's mountain zebra are abundant. Stargazing with highly sophisticated telescope and professional astronomer can be enjoyed. A highlight is the expansive stargazing window over the beds.
