Campi Ya Tembo Game Viewing and Activities

The Masai Mara in Kenya is the most famous of Africa's reserves. Predators such as lions, cheetah and leopard prey on the large numbers of gazelle, wildebeest and zebra that graze on the Mara plains. It is however the black-maned Mara lion who is the star of the show. Elephant, buffalo, kongoni, topi, waterbuck and primates are can also be found on in the wide green gold savannahs of the Masai Mara. The Masai Mara is also home to the northern end of the wildebeest migration. Thousands of wildebeest, zebra and antelope sweep in from Tanzania's Serengeti. These herds are tracked by large predators who pick off the weak, young and stragglers. The migration pass along the Mara River, shoving and pushing just waiting for the first animal to cross so they can complete the final leg of their journey. All while crocodiles lie in wait for their best meal of the year. Large herds of resident elephant, giraffe, zebra, buffalo and impala live in Campi Ya Tembo's secret valley. The area around the camp is ideal for walking, bird watching and observing wildlife. Long after the massive herds of wildebeest and zebra have passed, the plains are still home to an abundant of wildlife.
