Savute Elephant Camp Game Viewing

Savute Elephant Camp is situated in the heart of the Chobe National Park, known as the elephant capital of the world; a game rich area that promises exceptional game viewing without guests having to leave the camp. The Savute is a remarkable area to see high concentrations of elephant and lions.  Prides up to 40 strong are regularly seen as are sightings of all the other major predators including the endangered wild dog, leopard, cheetah and the hyena.  Savute also offers excellent birding during the summer months (December through March), as well as being home to some very rare rock paintings drawn by the early San Bushmen, who once inhabited the region. Activities focus on day game drives in open 4x4 vehicles to see wildlife on the dry Savute Marsh, which is also home to the Zebra migration during the months of February and October. Other activities include excursions to see the historic San rock paintings in the hills or the ancient Game trackers Baobabs. The camp offers game viewing activities in the morning and late afternoons. Activities are restricted to set regulations as the camp is within a national park, hence no walking and night drives are permitted.
