MARA REKERO CAMP
Masai Mara
Kenya

Introduction

Rekero Camp is a seasonal camp situated in a ravine forest close to the Mara and Talek Rivers in the Masai Mara. The camp is open from June to October and again from December to March and caters for between four to twelve guests. The most striking feature at Rekero is the waterhole on the far side of the lawn at which guests may have extremely close encounters with local wildlife.

Camp Description

There are 7 spacious tents in the style of a mobile camp with rustic twin / double bedrooms, each with private en-suite facilities. From the dining area guests have excellent views of wildlife at the waterhole, when it is illuminated at night time.

Game Viewing

The Masai Mara National Reserve occupies a 320 sq kilometre chunk of the famous Serengeti plains and is inhabited by many of Africa' s popular wild animals. Lions, cheetah, leopard, elephant, black rhino and hippos can be found roaming the famous rolling grasslands. There are over 500 resident birds in the park including lark, ostrich, sunbird and 57 species of birds of prey. It is also the place for one of nature' s best spectacles, the Great Migration. Each year thousands of wildebeest and zebra cross the crocodile infested waters in order to reach for fertile grazing in the Masai Mara. Kongoni, topi, Thompson' s gazelle, waterbuck, hyena and the primates can also be found roaming the Masai Mara.
