Nomad Tarangire, Serengeti.
Introduction
Nomad Tarangire is a new 8 bed camp in Tarangire National
Park. This small and stylish camp offers the ultimate all round Tarangire
experience; from game drives in the key game spots, with opportunities for
exciting walking safaris and fly camping expeditions within the remote
wilderness area of the park.
Camp
Description
Nomad Tarangire presents uniquely designed tents which offer comfort, space, and
light and are designed to take full advantage of the passing breezes. The mess
and dining tent is spacious, welcoming, and funky, and definitely somewhere to
spend a relaxed afternoon, either inside in the library/lounge area or in the
shade of a tree lying in a hammock soaking up the Tarangire vibe.
Accommodation
Accommodation in Nomad Tarangire consists of 4 uniquely
designed Bedouin style safari tents: inner bed tent area with large
comfortable beds, optional roll down canvas sides and shade netting. Outer
living area also netted with roll down sides, kilim rugs, screened dressing
area and en-suite bathroom. Flush toilets and traditional bucket showers with
hot and cold water available on demand. Triples, unfortunately cannot be
accommodated.
Game
Viewing
There is phenomenal birding and game viewing
with the park being well known for its large herds of elephants. Also migratory
wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, impala, gazelle, hartebeest and eland make it the
greatest concentration of wildlife outside the
Serengeti ecosystem.

The park offers a host of excellent game
driving
opportunities in private 4WD vehicles with own private guide, fantastic walking
safaris through the wilder areas of the park, Fly camping soon to be introduced.

Age Restrictions
Please note that children under
the age of 8 are not accepted at Nomad Tarangire. Only children of 12 and over
can participate in walking and fly camping activities. All children stay at
their parents own risk.
Climate
This is
really a year-round park with very distinct
seasons offering very different experiences. The dry season (from July to early
Oct) is when thousands of animals congregate around the Tarangire river as the
parks other water sources dry up. There are short rains in November and
December which leave
the park lush, green and full of life.
The camp is
closed during the long rains, March - May, reopening June 1st.

Payment
Curios and or imported drinks will be billed to the guest and settled on
check out. If guests feel that they want to tip, our recommended tipping
schedule is as follows:
Guides - US$5.00 per person per day
General Camp Staff - US$3.00 per person per day
Specialist Guides (if applicable) - US$10.00 per person per day

How to get there
Fly by daily scheduled flights from Arusha,
or private charter to Kuro airstrip or drive in 4WD safari vehicles. The camp is
approx 2 hours drive from the main gate.
