Most major resorts offer non-motorized water sports free of charge and include activities like, sailing, cruising in glass-bottomed boats, canoeing, kayaking, laser sails, paddle boats, snorkelling, water-skiing and windsurfing. You don't need to be experienced and you don't need to pack any equipment. Qualified instructors will be available to guide and assist you. Activities available at an additional cost include banana rides, tube rides, sunset cruises, undersea walks, parasailing and big game fishing. Mauritius is a diver's paradise. It offers some of the best diving sites in the Indian Ocean. It is perfect for beginners as well as experienced divers. The majority of the resorts are PADI-certified and offer a choice between introduction tutoring as well as qualified tuition. A few resorts are PADI-5-star and NAUI-certified.

Seasons

Mauritius is a year round travel destination. The climate can be described as humid and a subtropical climate prevails. The warmer summer months are hot and dry, from November to April, with temperatures varying between 25 and 31 degrees Celsius. The sea temperatures average around 27 degrees Celsius. The cooler winter months are from May to October with temperatures varying between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius.

Sea temperatures average around 22 degrees Celsius. The rainy season or better known as the cyclone season is from December to March with light showers clearing quickly. The least popular months are from January to April, when days are hot and humid and the threat of cyclones is in the air.
