Introduction

Lion Sands Private Game Reserve is situated in the southern part of the Sabi Sand Game Reserve, an area well known for its spectacular predator viewing. The Reserve has exclusive access to the Sabie River, the largest perennial river system within the greater reserve which ensures a classic safari experience through both the summer and winter season. This private game lodge offers the highest standard of service, accommodation and facilities.

Lodge Description

Ivory Lodge is very luxurious and exclusive with complete privacy and each suite is operated as a lodge within a lodge where private dinners, spa treatments and complete relaxation are offered. The main area consists of a private lounge with fireplace, wooden viewing decks, wine cellar, health spa, curio shop as well as an indoor and outdoor dining area. The luxurious suites have a private courtyard, lounge with fireplace, viewing deck and private swimming pool. The bedroom en-suite is fully air-conditioned and has an additional outside shower. All rooms have telephone and internet access. All suites and areas are linked by raised wooden walkways. They all have magnificent views over the Sabie River, a setting where game viewing can be done from the luxury of your suite.

Game Viewing

Game viewing at Lion Sands is of a high standard and compares with the best in the world. Guests can expect to see lion, elephant, leopard, rhino, cheetah, buffalo, giraffe, zebra and other general game on game drives, as well as superb bird watching. Wildlife activities include game drives of approximately four hours, accompanied by a qualified ranger and tracker. Guests not only get close to big game but also learn to identify birds and trees and learn about local bush lore. The night game viewing is a unique experience. Nocturnal sightings might include bush babies, the elusive genet, or predators hunting and stalking their prey.
