Introduction

Lewa Wilderness Trails is situated in the wildlife rich eastern corner of the Lewa Downs Conservancy in Kenya. It is home to the Craig family who have been entertaining guests to the conservancy for 30 years.

Camp Description

The lodge has 9 beautifully decorated thatched cottages with fireplace, en suite bathroom and private veranda. Wholesome organic food is served either alfresco or from the dining room. There is also a salt water pool and a tennis court.

Game Viewing

The Lewa Wildlife Conservancy is best known as a pioneer private rhino sanctuary which also holds 25% of the world’s remaining population of Grevy’s zebra. The conservancy is also an important elephant refuge. Working with the local community, the organisation is trying to re-establish the old northern elephant migratory route as a sustainable and safe ecosystem for wildlife. Lewa has been involved in a programme of restocking other wildlife areas.
