LEOPARD ROCK LODGE

Introduction

Leopard Rock Lodge is situated amid wilderness of Meru National Park. The lodge is unfenced which allows animals to roam freely around the lodge and water at the river.

Camp Description

Leopard Rock Lodge has 15 large cottages decorated with traditional Lamu style teak furniture and Persian carpets. All suites are luxuriously spacious with en suite bathrooms have private terraces which overlook a tropical river and Bisandi reserve. The pool has a well stocked bar located at the centre of the pool where you can enjoy cocktails as you watch crocodiles basking in the river banks. You can also view the giant reptiles through the glass partition beneath the swimming pool as you swim.

Game Viewing

Meru National Park has a wide variety of habitat and landscapes around the Equator. Savannah, swamp and forest are pierced with over 13 perennial rivers, rising from the volcanic Nyambene Hills reaching the Tana River in the south. Meru National Park is home to plenty of wildlife. Reticulated giraffe, eland, Grevy's zebra, dik dik, Somali ostrich, waterbuck and gerenuk are regularly spotted on game drives. Meru National Park is also a good park to view lion, elephant, buffalo, cheetah and leopard. Over 300 species of bird has also been recorded around the park. These include Peter's finfoot, Pel's fishing owl, bee-eaters and starlings to name a few.
