Lake Nakuru Safaris
Lake Nakuru is one of the Rift Valley soda lakes and is protected by the small Lake Nakuru National Park. The park is best known for its thousands, sometimes millions of flamingos nesting on the shores. The surface of the shallow is often hardly recognizable due to the continually shifting mass of pink flamingos. The picturesque landscape includes areas of marsh and grasslands alternating with rocky cliffs and outcrops, stretches of acacia woodland and rocky hillsides covered with a Euphorbia forest on the eastern perimeter.

Lake Nakuru National Reserve & Game Viewing
Game Viewing
Lake Nakuru is world famous as the location of the greatest bird spectacle on earth – myriads of fuchsia pink flamingos whose numbers are legion, often more than a million, or even two million. The flamingo are not the only avian attraction, also present are two large fish eating birds, the pelican and the cormorants. The lake is rich in other birdlife, with over 400 resident species on the lake and surrounding park.
Lake Nakuru National Park has been enlarged to provide a sanctuary for the black rhino. This undertaking has necessitated a fence to keep out poachers rather than restrict the movement of wildlife. The park is now home to more than 25 rhinos. Lake Nakuru National Park is also home to a number of Rothschild giraffe, waterbuck, lion, leopard and large sized pythons.
