KWANDO LEBALA CAMP
Kwando Wildlife Reserve
Linyanti
Botswana

Introduction

Kwando Lebala is situated in the Kwando Wildlife Reserve in the Linyanti area in northern Botswana. Lebala offers an intimate and exclusive safari experience in an area offering incredible wildlife and magnificent views. Night game drives and off road game drives are a highlight, accompanied by expert guides and trackers.

Camp Description

Kwando Lebala consists of 8 spacious tents, each built on a raised teak deck. The tents have an entrance foyer with a reading and writing area, en-suite bathrooms with Victorian claw foot bathtubs, "his and hers" basins and flush toilets. The bathrooms lead out to a reed enclosed open-air shower with hot and cold running water. Each secluded tent has its own sundeck and is set back among the trees. The endless vistas from the large windows and decks across the vast plains, make Lebala one of the finest wilderness camps in Africa. The cuisine at Kwando is superb and caters for various appetites; the camp also has a pool.

Game Viewing

The Kwando Wildlife Reserve consists of 232 000 hectares of prime African bushveld that offers incredible game viewing. Lebala is famous for its large elephant populations and the area is home to more Elephant than the entire country of South Africa. Guests can also expect to see Impala, Kudu, Zebra, Wildebeest, Tsessebe, Giraffe, Sitatunga, Sable, Roan, Buffalo, Bushbuck and the smaller antelope. Kwando also provides refuge to Red Lechwe, Waterbuck, Warthog and the shy Sitatunga Antelope. The major predators such as Lion, Leopard, Cheetah, Wild Dog and Hyena are resident and regularly sighted. The reed and papyrus swamps are ideal for the numerous and diverse species of birds. Night drives allow guests a chance to see the nocturnal species such as Civet, Large- and Small-spotted Genet, Honey Badger, and Spring Hare. Nocturnal birding, especially Owls, is also excellent here. Lebala offers specials like Aardwolf, Aardvark, Ratel, Serval, Caracal and Selous Mongoose on a regular basis.
