Introduction

Hidden within the cavernous bushveld of the Eastern Cape's Sundays River region lies the Addo Elephant Park. It is here, where the evening's silence is broken by the howl of the black-backed jackal and the francolins' calls herald each new dawn, you will find the luxurious Kuzuko Lodge.

Camp Description

24 luxury chalets with private lounges and deck areas, as well as bathrooms that will provide guests with views of the dense valley bushveld.

Kuzuko is a private section of Addo Elephant National Park, South Africa's third largest national park and is a malaria-free region. Other attractions which will enhance your nature experience are star-gazing telescopes, waterhole hides, day and night game drives and bird-watching. Recreation facilities include a restaurant, bar and lounge, swimming pool, spa, guided game walks and access to Addo Elephant National Park.

Game Viewing

With an emphasis on walking trails, guests can experience a typical old-fashioned safari first-hand. Safaris in open 4WD vehicles are also available. Lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, rhino, cheetah, hippo and crocodile plus a multitude of general game and over 450 bird species may be viewed from the comfort and safety of the open game drive vehicle. The professional armed rangers and trackers conduct all game drives and walks ensuring that rare birds species and the more fascinating fauna and flora are not overlooked - emphasising your appreciation of the complete wilderness experience. The safari's depart just after sunrise each day in an open fully equipped vehicle. Tracking Africa's big game, the evening safari leaves after you have enjoyed afternoon tea and continues into the night after sundowners at a panoramic viewpoint. The evening holds a sense of anticipation as the rare and elusive nocturnal species begin their night activities. You will return restored and rejuvenated - having absorbed the magical energy and spiritual presence inherent to the bush - a natural "tonic" that everyone should experience on a regular basis.
