Itinerary:
Day 1: Meet and transfer for 1 night bed and breakfast
at the Palacina Suites. Located in the tranquil gardens of the State House
Valley, Palacina is the ideal venue for a central location but away from the
traffic and noise of Nairobi.
Day 2: Transfer by road to Amboseli Porini Camp, arriving for lunch.
The camp is small and is on the lines of the traditional luxury safari camp, but
with more comfortable bathroom arrangements than were available to the big game
hunters of earlier years! The camp is private and has a max of 12 guests. Afternoon
escorted walk with Maasai warriors to visit a Maasai village, gaining an
insight into their way of life. Sundowners and night drive in the
Conservancy. Dinner and overnight, Amboseli Porini Camp.
Day 3: Early
breakfast, drive through Selenkay Conservancy and into Amboseli National
Park for close viewing of elephant in particular and a full morning of
game drives with picnic lunch. The Reserve covers only only 392sq m, but
despite its small size it boasts a remarkable range of mammals, over 50 of the
larger species and birds with over 400species. Within this reserve is also a
dried up lake bed where swamps and springs, fed by underground rivers from Mt
Kilimanjaro melting snows, form permanent watering places for the wildlife
through times of drought. You then return to Porini Camp in the
afternoon. Evening game drive in Selenkay, sundowners and night drive.
Overnight Amboseli Porini Camp.

Day 4: Drive
to Amboseli airstrip, fly to Samburu National Park, arriving for lunch
and 2 nights Full Board at Larsens Camp. Relax before your afternoon game drive. The Samburu region is the best place to find endemic
species of the north, including the gerenuk, the giraffe, a zebra. The forests along the river banks are home to many birds, including local species of the
vulture and the dove. These forests are also home to many leopards. Also lions
are frequently seen on the riverbanks and cheetah can be found on the open
plains. Return to Larsens Camp for sundowners on the viewing platform that
overlooks the river, providing an endless parade of wildlife. Dinner and
overnight at this luxury camp in your river facing tent.
Day 5: Morning and afternoon game drives in 4x4 safari
vehicle. Overnight at Larsens Camp.
Day 6: Fly
to the Masai Mara for 2 nights at the recently opened Mara Porini
Camp
in Ol Kinyei Conservancy, a private wilderness area on Maasai community
land. The conservancy holds a wide variety of the animal species for
which the Mara is famous including a large resident pride of lions.
Accommodation is in one of 6 tents sited in the shade of Yellow-barked Acacia
trees a long the banks of the Laetoli, a permanent spring within Ol Kinyea. Enjoy
an afternoon game drive and walk, sundowners and night drive at the Mara Porini
Camp.
Day 7: Balloon Safari and Champagne breakfast.*
The Balloons lift off at dawn (0615) after coffee and a
flight briefing. The one hour flight will give you a birds eye view, of the best
East Africa has to offer, in the magnificent setting of the Great Rift Valley. A
champagne breakfast in the bush after you land, adds to the buzz you will get
from the early morning air and the sights and sounds, that only an eagle ever
sees. Early morning is the ideal time to see wild animals on the plains.
In the Masai Mara Game Reserve in Kenya it is an experience you will never
forget. This is followed by
A full day in the Masai Mara on the look out for lion and cheetah, with
picnic lunch. Overnight Mara Porini Camp.
Day 8:
Morning game drive and fly back to Nairobi, arriving 12.15 at Wilson
Airport.
