Camp Description
Kasaka offers a one of a kind luxury experience, its very own tempo, people and animals living side by side in an unmatched location.
Nestled on the banks of the Zambezi River, this 22 bed luxury en-suited tented camp is in the Chiawa Game Management area which is 4 km by road from the Lower Zambezi National Park, this is the only stretch on the 2,700 km Zambezi River where the National Parks on both banks of the river, the Lower Zambezi National Park in Zambia and the celebrated Mana Pools World Heritage Site in Zimbabwe.
The river runs along the length of the property and there are breathtaking views across the water with sightings of hippo, buffalo, elephant and crocodile.
The chalets are luxury tents which have been tastefully decorated with a true African flair. Each has an elegantly finished en-suite bathroom.
The bar, dining area and deck are set amongst enormous tamarind trees and are the perfect spot for unwinding whilst watching the world go by on the river below. The Lodge is located in a natural bush environment with each chalet hidden away amongst the native flora. The gardens around the Lodge are an interesting and colourful blend of indigenous plants with paths weaving in and out from the chalets to the pool, dining and bar areas.
Game Viewing
Guests often get to see the very close sightings of elephant, hippos and buffalo as the animals are very relaxed here in these surroundings. The birdlife around the lodge is abundant and there are said to be over 300 species. And there are many chances to capture stunning wildlife scenes. Guests can also get to see amazing sunsets on a short boat trip.
For the accomplished and the more novice fisherman there is an opportunity to catch the legendary tigerfish and the Lower Zambezi is known for its excellent fishing and the increasingly popular fly fishing. A catch and release policy is enforced by the authorities.
