Introduction
Karen Blixen Camp is set on the bank of the Mara River in a private
concession of land leased from a Masai landlord.
The location is spectacular, with the great Mara plains
behind the camp and the impressive escarpment and Mara River in
front. Zebras, elephants
and hippos are found drinking from the river throughout the day.
Camp Description
Twenty two spacious en-suite tents are set up for providing a luxurious and stylish retreat. The tents are set on large mahogany platforms, each with a spacious veranda and cushion filled day bed from which one can enjoy a relaxing view of the wonderful surroundings. Tents can be configured for either double or twin occupancy.
The open plan dining area is beautifully located on the banks of the Mara River overlooking the resident hippo pod. Pan-African, Italian, Asian and gourmet cuisine are served alongside a comprehensive selection of wines. The reception area has been decorated with accurate copies of Karen Blixen'
s own furniture. A swimming pool with sun-beds and umbrellas is located in a quiet corner behind the dining area.
