Introduction

Jatinga Country Lodge is situated on the border of the quaint town of White River, only 38 km from the world famous Kruger National Park and only 4 ½ km from Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport. The Lodge is situated in over 30 hectares of beautiful gardens with the White River winding its way through the bottom of the property. Jatinga offers luxurious accommodation, privacy and gourmet cuisine.

Lodge Description

Jatinga consists of 16 Superior rooms and 4 Luxury suites (one being the romantic Honeymoon suite). All suites offer a different feel and have been tastefully decorated. The 6 Orchard and Forest rooms form a little village on its own and, as their names suggest, some have a view over our citrus orchard while the others look into our pine forest. Different rooms offer different experiences, like outdoor showers, open fire places or romantic stone baths, each suite offers the same standard of luxury and comfort. Private patios are part of the experience in the Luxury suites as well as a separate lounge. All rooms offer a well stocked mini bar and snack basket, Tea & Coffee making facilities with fresh home baked biscuits, Limited room service menu, Air conditioning, Satellite TV and Telephone, Valet and Laundry service, a Hair dryer, Bath robes, complimentary amenities and Fresh flowers as well as Bird books (binoculars can be borrowed from Reception). The cuisine at Jatinga is delicious and the chef caters for all appetites. The lodge also offers outdoor dining, picnics as well as delicious high teas.

Activities

Jatinga offers a variety of activities, tours and cultural excursions to choose from. The legendary Kruger National Park is only 35km from Jatinga. Blyde River Canyon offers magnificent views of the Canyon and the Lowveld from God's Window and the Kruger National Park can be seen in the distance. Bourkes Luck Potholes, named after the man that discovered gold offers a historical experience. Lisbon Falls are the highest in the area and a magnificent sight. Pilgrim's Rest is a "living museum" and an absolute "must-see". Mac Mac Falls are named after the old mining camp, steeped in history offers an interesting excursion. Close by are the Mac Mac Pools, naturally formed swimming pools. The Cheetah Project in Hoedspruit offers guests a first-hand look at the world's fastest cat and how fragile the balance of the cheetah population is. Golf around Jatinga is an experience in itself and offers a number of first-class golf courses including White River Country Club which is 10km from Jatinga and promises golfers a challenging 18-hole course in beautiful green surroundings while the course at Sabi River Sun Hotel in Hazyview, 30 minutes away, offers the added "challenge" of resident hippos!
