Malaria Free Safaris - Madikwe

Situated in the malaria free Madikwe Game Reserve boasting 75,000 hectares of big five 'territory, Jacis Safari Lodge and Jacis Tree Lodge invite you to share the wilderness of Africa in the exclusive luxury of one (or both) of the magnificent lodges. Jaci's is located in an ideal spot overlooking an established and well used water hole, under a grove of Tamboti trees, on the edge of the Marico River.

These two exceptional, privately owned lodges - run by Jan and Jaci, together with an outstanding team - will exceed all your safari expectations.

Jacis Safari Lodge masterfully blends into its surroundings, encompassing a magnificent main area built around an ancient termite mound. The location was discovered and the concept envisaged by Jan in combination with Jaci's colorful decorating style and attention to detail you are sure of a memorable and unique Safari experience.

Camp Description

Jacis Safari Lodge, features eight large rooms and the exclusive 2 bed-roomed "Nare Suite". All rooms are built with shaggy thatched roofs, canvas walls and large tented windows - to create a true safari atmosphere, inviting you to enjoy your bush surroundings. Early risers may catch a glimpse of Bush Babies returning to roost in the trees around the rooms or enjoy the morning Francolin calls.

The generous Main Lodge consists of a spacious lounge and open plan dining area with uninterrupted views of the bush. Enjoy fire cooked meals in the enclosed boma, or under the stars at a bush braai. The main complex is different, open plan, curved around a huge anthill, under shady trees overlooking the water hole and on the banks of the Marico River.

Upstairs is a quiet reading space. There is also a well-stocked ethnic craft shop. Jaci's Safari Lodge now has a fully equipped gym situated between Jaci's Safari Lodge and Jaci's Tree lodge as well as a kiddies play area, overlooking the river.

Guests are at liberty to lounge at the pool or enjoy bird watching from the hammock on the banks of the Groot Marico River, and are encouraged to indulge themselves in their surroundings.

The exclusive Nare Suite has a self contained kitchen (for resident chefs to prepare meals for you in the luxury of your own retreat), lounge and outdoor dining area. This exciting and latest addition to Jacis is an exclusive bush retreat- so named because of the resident Buffalo Bull who frequents the waterhole in front of the Suite, along with the numerous other animal visitors - accommodates a maximum of 4 guests.

The remaining eight thatched rooms of Jacis, each offer a charming built in, en-suite hand-made rock bath with an outdoor "safari" shower, and fans to keep a gentle breeze flowing. Six of the rooms have twin beds and the seventh and eighth room have king size four-poster beds. Each room has a hand made ceramic fireplace surrounded by a stone chimney. The walls in the bathroom are built using natural rock and the bath was constructed on site. In order to create a "tented feel" the rooms have canvas sides.

The deck in front of the room allows you to sit and enjoy the surrounding sights and smells of the bushveld - whilst watching the animals walking past to drink.

The day, the place, and the ambience created by Africa and indeed, by Jacis are yours, to enjoy in peace.
