The beauty of unspoilt bush will tug at your soul at this safari camp in the heart of the Manyelenti Game Reserve. You enter the 'Gateway to the Stars' and stumble upon a rare treasure: Honeyguide Khoka Moya Camp, ever true to its mystical Shangaan name, 'Capture the Spirit'. A crackling dawn-fire and hushed excited chatter, before the first game viewing of the day will usher in an exciting new day at Honeyguide Khoka Moya Camp.

The camp is situated on the border of the Kruger National Park in prime Big Five Country - the beautiful and unexploited 23 000 hectare Manyeleti Game Reserve.

Camp Description

Honeyguide Khoka Moya comprises 12 large, en-suite tents which are comfortably furnished in contemporary style. Double or twin beds are made up with fine cotton sheets and down duvets. A double shower and separate toilet are provided. A private outdoor seating area in front of each tent offers the nature lover a secluded encounter with the sounds and essence of wild Africa without sacrificing safety or comfort.

The reception areas reflect contemporary design that makes use of steel, corrugated iron and recycled timber. The spacious lounge and dining areas of the camp overlook manicured green lawns that lead off to a crystal swimming pool. The communal lounge, dining and bar area at Khoka Moya Safari Lodge surrounds an open atrium where al fresco evening meals are served around a roaring log fire. The well stocked wine cellar offers many fine South African vintages to meet individual tastes.

Khoka Moya Safari Lodge offers a child friendly environment A children's centre stocked with a DVD player, animal and nature related movies, toys as well as a small library aimed at a younger readership is all on offer.

Game Viewing

Awake to a crackling dawn fire before the first game viewing of the day and your chance to see the Big Five. With your hands warmed from a hot morning drink, rangers will take you on an adventure into the bush on foot or in 4x4 viewing vehicles. As the heat of the African day heightens, and after an game drive of approximately 3 hours,you leave the bush and return to camp for mid-morning brunch.

Afternoons can be spent relaxing by the pool or viewing passing game from the hide at the nearby waterhole. As sunset approaches, you will venture into the African bush again for an evening's game viewing before being treated to a gourmet dinner and campfire stories back at camp. Evening game drives last about 4 hours, and include leisurely sundowners.

Honey Guide Khoka Moya Camp has implemented a program aimed at catering for children under the age of twelve years, offering special excursions and walks for children after breakfast. Parents wishing to visit a luxury private camp in the greater Kruger National Park area are able to have the peace of mind that their children are welcome and cared for.
