Foxes Safari Camp, Mikumi National ParkMikumi National Park Safari Camp Mikumi National Park is the closest National Park to Dar es Salaam. As part of the Selous ecosystem, it benefits from the highest game density in the entire conservation area. Foxes Safari Lodge inhabits prime position in Mikumi, as it sits high on a rocky kopje on the Mkata floodplain. Here it presides over the best game viewing in Tanzania.
Accommodation Hidden in the trees that flank it are 8 guest tents These custom designed tents are on raised wooden platforms and are sited around the rock kopje overlooking the floodplain. Guests can enjoy this view from their own private veranda. Each tent houses twin beds with mosquito nets and has and en suite shower toilet and basin with hot water. Electricity is available until 11pm.
Activities & Game Viewing Mikumi will fascinate with its changing landscape. the open grasslands that stretch out before you, change through the spectrum of orange and yellows as the day passes. There are high concentrations of game, buffalo, impala, zebra and giraffe. And of course, where the game rambles, the predators will come. All Game drives around the park are taken in open 4 wheel drive vehicles. These have been designed to ensure maximum visibility for all passengers. The game drives are led by a trained, experienced English speaking guide. If a break from the bush is required, guests can take a dip in the pool that has outstanding views over the floodplain.
When to Go This is a seasonal camp and is closed March - June. The best time for game viewing is in the dry months between June and February as access to some areas of the park may be limited during March to June due to the rains. Pricing Please contact us for current rates.
