ELEPHANT PEPPER CAMP
Masai Mara
Kenya

Introduction

Elephant Pepper Camp is located in a private concession bordering the unfenced Masai Mara. Being situated on the outskirts of the Masai Mara National Park ensures the camp can provide a more flexible range of game activities in their open-sided vehicles and game walks. Between July and October, wildebeest and zebra cross the plains, migrating from the Serengeti. These animals are prey for lions, leopards and cheetahs, which abound in large numbers. The private concession ensures guests enjoy more exclusive and private game viewing, away from the large tourist groups.

Camp Description

The 8 luxury tents are comfortably furnished with en-suite bathrooms and eco-friendly flush toilets and traditional safari showers. There are 3 double tents, 4 twins (which can be made into doubles) and 1 honeymoon / family tent. All guests enjoy panoramic views over the Masai Mara. Laundry service is included. The main dining/bar mess tent offers family style dining with a help yourself bar.

Game Viewing

A 500km round trip from the southern Serengeti to the northern edge of the Masai Mara National Reserve, the Great Migration is probably Africa' s greatest wildlife spectacle and one of the world' s exceptional natural phenomena. Migrants include 1.3 million wildebeest, 360 000 Thomson' s gazelle, 191 000 zebra and 12 000 eland. They join the large resident populations of topi, impala, African buffalo, Grant' s gazelle, kongoni, giraffe, zebra, warthog, waterbuck and elephant. Adding pathos and drama to the extraordinary spectacle are hungry lions, hyenas, cheetah, wild dogs, leopards and jackals.
