Introduction

Eagles Crag Lodge is situated in the Shamwari Game Reserve along the famous Garden Route in the Eastern Cape; nestled in a valley, it provides the ultimate luxury for the discerning traveller who is looking for a private and peaceful retreat.

Lodge Description

The lodge consists of nine luxurious rooms with en-suite facilities and a private deck with a pool as well as indoor and outdoor showers. The rooms have wall to wall glass doors on two sides providing magnificent views of the surrounding cliffs. The luxury spa offers a wide variety of personalized treatments. The upper floor dining room and lounge, library, lounge and cocktail bar compliment the guests "African bushveld experience".

Game Viewing

Shamwari Game Reserve is a big five, private game reserve and consists of 20 000 hectares (49000 acres) of malaria free, prime African bushland. Shamwari has received numerous international awards, including the World's Leading Conservation Company and Game Reserve for five consecutive years. The reserve boasts five eco-systems, thus enabling the support of many forms of plant, animal and bird life. Activities include early morning and late afternoon game drives as well as guided bush walks. All game activities are accompanied by experienced and knowledgeable guides. Guests can expect to see lion, elephant, buffalo, giraffe, wildebeest, zebra, black and white rhinoceros, hippopotamus, kudu, springbok, bushbuck, grey duiker, black wildebeest, gemsbok and zebra. If guests are lucky they might spot cheetah, brown hyena, the elusive leopard as well as wild dog.
