Introduction

Djuma Bush Lodge is a small, intimate lodge located in the Djuma Game Reserve, part of the world-renowned Sabi Sand Reserve, which borders on the Kruger National Park. The lodges’ rugged setting, sturdy wooden construction and African decor offer a true nature feel. Bush Lodge is a luxurious family lodge with a relaxed atmosphere, home to Africa’s “Big 5” and offers guests an authentic safari experience.

Lodge Description

The lodge consists of 8 luxury wood and thatch bedrooms, catering for a maximum of 16 guests, individually situated and tucked away in the indigenous gardens. All bedrooms are en-suite with air-conditioning, fans, and mosquito nets; bathrooms are equipped with showers, toilets and basins. The lodge offers two viewing decks and has a magnificent swimming pool, full bar facilities and laundry services. Breakfast is a full English style buffet. High tea includes savouries and cakes; dinner is a four course meal under the stars. Dinners are either served in the dining room or outside around a roaring fire in the boma.

Game Viewing

Djuma Game Reserve is home to South Africa’s "Big 5", as well as cheetah, hyena, jackal, buck, giraffe, and zebra. Game drives begin early in the morning, when most of the animals are active and sightings are common. The lodge offers two safaris daily, as well as daily guided bush walks. The safari experience at Bush Lodge is unique in the sense that the lodge does not only concentrate on the Big Five. In addition to game viewing activities, Djuma offers guests the unique opportunity to learn about the history of the reserve and the local people. You can also sit back and relax under thatch on the upper deck or alongside the outdoor swimming pool which is positioned in a small grove of Tamboti trees.
