This comfortable 8 night safari explores the contrast between the barren landscapes that cover most of Botswana and the wetland paradise of the Okavango Delta. Guests will not only get the opportunity to explore the Kalahari Desert, the safari also offers a rich cultural experience with the people of Botswana. Activities will be accompanied by expert guides and include game drives, night drives, bird watching, guided bush walks with San Bushmen, white rhino tracking, fishing, boating, canoeing and bird watching.
Itinerary Maun/Maun Packge
Day 1 & 2 & 3: - Western Kalahari Desert
On arrival at Maun airport, guests will be met by a representative and assisted to their light aircraft transfer to
Edos Camp where they will be staying for 3 nights. Activities at Edos Camp include game drives, night drives, bird
watching, guided bush walks with San Bushmen as well as white rhino tracking. In the western Kalahari Desert, located in a 120,000 hectare game conservancy is Edos Camp. Six of Botswanas endangered white rhino populations make this private sanctuary their home as well as numerous species of plants, birds and mammals, many only found in this region.This Botswana accommodation is set overlooking a water-filled pan and is surrounded by ancient Leadwood trees that provide much needed shade. Providing guests with a chance of viewing many species of mammal only found in this desert environment, game drives, together with personal guides in specifically designed vehicles depart daily.
Day 4 & 5: - Okavango Delta
Guests will be transferred by light aircraft to Kanana Camp where they will be staying for 2 nights. Activities at
Kanana focus on game drives, guided walks, fishing, canoeing and bird watching.
Set on the Xudum River in the southwest Okavango, Kanana has been named a hidden jewel. The area surrounds a necklace of islands which is home to a myriad of birds, plants and animals, dotted with palms, figs, ebony and knobthorns.
Kanana Camp is shaded by the Jackalberry and palm trees which open onto the peaceful reedbeds of the Xudum River. As Kanana Camp is in a private concession a wide range of activities is on offer, the focus however is the rising and falling levels of the Okavango Delta.
Day 6 & 7 & 8: - Okavango Delta
After breakfast and morning activities, guests will be transferred by light aircraft to Shinde Camp where they will
be staying for 3 nights. Shinde has permanent water all year round and offer both land as well as water activities.
Activities include, mokoro rides, boating, fishing, bird watching, guided walks as well as game drives. Shinde is an intimate Botswana safari camp situated on the border of the Shinde lagoon. The main camp boasts an exclusive tree house made of a multi-tiered raised lounge and dining area set amongst the shade of ebony and mangosteen.
The classic safari tents comprises of eight twin beds each with en-suite bathrooms, hot and cold running water and flushing toilets.A diverse range of activities are offered at Shinde, having the perfect location that affords both water and land activities throughout the year.
Day 9: - Maun
After breakfast and morning activities, guests are transferred by light aircraft back to Maun airport in time for their
onward travel arrangements.
