The Garden Route Game Lodge is situated along the N2, 7km after the small town of Albertinia with the beautiful Langeberg mountain Range in the back ground in the famous Garden Route. The Garden Route Game Lodge is situated in a malaria-free area only 3� hours drive from Cape Town; a magnificent private game reserve home to the Big Five as well as an abundance of general wildlife.
Guests staying at the Garden Route Game Lodge can choose between luxurious lodge rooms and luxury thatch chalets. The Lodge rooms offer en-suite facilities and balconies with magnificent views and African sunsets all situated within close convenience to the swimming pool. These rooms are ideal for families and are located closer to the Lodge amenities. Exclusive accommodation is available in luxurious thatched chalets with en-suite bathrooms. The thatch, stone and timber chalets blend in with the natural environment and all chalets are linked to the Main Lodge with a wooden walkway. The chalets are isolated and offer complete privacy ideal for honeymoon couples or guests wanting a quiet and peaceful experience. Meals at the Garden Route Game Lodge are an experience. Dinner is served in the African Boma offering a unique experience with a choice of traditional dishes and chefs specialities prepared on open coals in African pots. The Serengetis Restaurant offers a delightful alternative where safari dishes are served on expansive wooden decks offering sweeping views. Special children's menus and meal times are available.
Activities at the Garden Route Game Lodge include early morning and evening game drives accompanied by experienced and knowledgeable game rangers. Garden Route Game Lodge is home to giraffe, white rhino, lion, elephant, buffalo, kudu, zebra and wildebeest as well as the many other antelope species, birdlife and local African folklore. The Garden Route Game Lodge offers a safe haven for lion and is home to 7 lions which originally came from Shamwari Game Reserve in the Eastern Cape. The lions have adapted well to their new environment. The Cheetah Conservation Center was established in 2002 to provide visitors to the Garden Route Game Lodge with an insight into the plight of this critically endangered species.
