Introduction

Chapungu Tented Camp is situated in the Thorny Bush Game Reserve, adjacent to the Kruger National Park with over 10 000 hectares of pristine African Bushveld. The reserve offers a huge diversity of mammal and bird species with prime game viewing in an unspoiled area. Chapungu Tented Camp offers luxury tented accommodation in a private and secluded setting.

Camp Description

Chapungu Camp can accommodate a maximum of ten guests in five en-suite rooms. The rooms overlook a granite pool set amongst magnificent trees. The water hole at Chapungu Camp is a major attraction with plenty of animals coming down for a drink. The rooms have overhead ceiling fans and air-conditioners. The camp has a rock pool, curio shop, boma and dining area. The food and service at the camp is outstanding.

Game Viewing

Chapungu offers game drives in open Land Rovers and guided bush walks. Guests can expect to see lion, elephant, leopard, rhino, cheetah, buffalo, giraffe, zebra and other general game on game drives and the bird watching in the area is prolific. The day begins with a game drive of approximately four hours, accompanied by a qualified ranger and tracker. The night game viewing is an experience of its own. Nocturnal sightings might include bush babies, the elusive genet, or predators hunting and stalking their prey.
