Itinerary Maun/Maun Packge
Day 1 & 2: - Okavango Delta
On arrival at Maun airport, guests will be met by a representative and assisted to their light aircraft transfer to
Delta Camp for 2 nights. The emphasis here is on guided walks and mokoro rides. Situated on the South Western edge of Chiefs Island in the heart of the Okavango Delta is Delta Camp, set in the forest of a large, beautiful and palm-studded island. The astounding design of the Chalets is such that you enjoy the luxuries of a 'top rate' hotel, but without affecting the environment; you will find you share your chalet with the trees, while taking full advantage of the views of the surrounding bush and flood-plains.At Delta Camp we offer Walking Safaris, and use the Mokoro as a mode of transport in between the various islands. Early morning or in the afternoon you set off on the Mokoro, slowly and quietly you move through the maze of channels to your walking destination.
Day 3 & 4: - Okavango Delta
Guests will be transferred by light aircraft to Mapula Camp where they will be staying for 2 nights. A variety of
activities are available at Mapula, game drives, night drives, mokoro rides, walking safaris, birding. Mapula has
permanent water and can offer water activities year round. Mapula Lodge is situated in the North Eastern area of the Okavango Delta, just outside the Moremi Game Reserve. This is a private area thus being able to offer a full spectrum of activities.
The main complex with its sweeping decks overlooks the permanent lagoon where the resident pod of hippopotamus resides. Game viewing is particularly good in this area, and the trees around the Lodge are home to a huge variety of birds. Being in a permanent water area, Mapula Lodge can offer year round water activities, especially important during January - May when water levels in the Okavango can become too low in most areas to allow the use of the traditional mokoro.
Day 5: - Maun
Today guests will take a road transfer back to Maun airport in time for their onward travel arrangements.
