Itinerary

DAY 1: JOHANNESBURG - KALAHARI DESERT
We depart at 06h30 from the Randburg Towers, in Randburg, north of Johannesburg and travel in the direction of the Botswana border. We install our bushcamp in the Kalahari Desert. In the evening we admire the bright stars of the southern hemisphere around our campfire. (All meals)

DAY 2: KALAHARI DESERT - MAUN
We arrive in Maun - the 'gateway' to the Okavango Delta. We prepare for the excursion in the delta and organize last supplies before going into the bush. (All meals)

DAY 3/4: OKAVANGO DELTA AREA OF MOREMI
We set up our bushcamp in a remote area and explore the delta by mokoro or boat (subject to the water level of the delta). The birdlife is prolific and we take time to simply appreciate the remoteness and serenity of the Okavango. (All meals)

DAY 5/6: MOREMI WILDLIFE RESERVE
Moremi Wildlife Reserve, created in 1968 by the Tawana tribe, is considered by many travellers to be the finest game park in southern Africa. The reserve is situated in the northern corner of the Okavango Delta. It is a pure wilderness area of great beauty, with rich green vegetation, palm trees, teeming with birdlife and a vast population of wild animals. We spend our time exploring the reserve in our open 4x4 safari vehicle. (All meals)

DAY 7: MOREMI - OKAVANGO RIVER LODGE
We return to Maun for an optional scenic flight (own expense) over the Okavango Delta. (All meals)

DAY 8/9: CHOBE RIVER
The 11 600 km² Park contains one of the largest concentrations of wild animals in Africa. Vast herds of buffalo, elephant, zebra, kudu, lechwe, puku and many others inhabit the waterways of Chobe. Predators such as lion and leopard are regularly observed. Chobe is famous for its beautiful scenery and magnificent sunsets. We enjoy an early morning game-drive and in the afternoon a game viewing cruise on the Chobe River. (All meals).

DAY 10/11: VICTORIA FALLS/ LIVINGSTONE "MOSI-OA-TUNYA" - THE SMOKE THAT THUNDERS
We travel across the Zimbabwean or Zambian border to Victoria Falls - without doubt one of the greatest and most spectacular sights in Africa, where the waters of the mighty Zambezi River tumble down in continuous thunder. Days spent at leisure for optional excursions. (All meals excluding 1 dinner ).

DAY 12: MAKGADIKGADI PANS
The pans are the remains of a gigantic ancient lake of 6 500 km² where the Okavango River used to flow. The sunset over the pans is unforgettable. (All meals).

DAY 13: MAKGADIKGADI PANS - MOLALA TAU
We cross the Limpopo River into South Africa and install our camp at Molala Tau (the resting place of the lion). We enjoy the grassy campsite under the shade of acacia trees. (All meals).

DAY 14: JOHANNESBURG

We return to the Randburg Towers, Johannesburg at +-16h00. (Breakfast and lunch).

The itinerary will depend on local conditions.
