Itinerary
DAY 1: VICTORIA FALLS
Meet your representative at the airport on arrival and transfer
to Matetsi Water Lodge and spend the night at the Lodge in twin-bedded
rooms with private facilities on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis.
DAYS 2, 3, 4 & 5: CHOBE NATIONAL PARK
Visit the spectacular Victoria Falls – known by the locals
as ‘Mosi-oa-tunya’ (The Smoke that Thunders) –
one of the world’s most awe-inspiring Natural Wonders (a guided
tour of the Falls is included in the safari fare). It is a short
drive from Victoria Falls to Chobe National Park in Botswana where
you will camp for two nights in the Serondela area of northern Chobe.
This is the heart of elephant country and you will be able to spend
many hours watching the huge herds in and around the waters of the
Chobe River. Northern Chobe is renowned for its large variety of
bird and animal life, beautiful scenery and magnificent sunsets.
From northern Chobe, travel southwest to Savute where you will spend
two overnights camping next to the dry Savute Channel. Savute is
excellent for lion and other predator viewing, and, depending on
the time of the year, huge animal concentrations are attracted to
this area.
DAYS 6 & 7: MOREMI WILDLIFE RESERVE
Continue to Moremi Wildlife Reserve, tucked into the northeastern
sector of the Okavango. The Reserve was set-aside in 1963 by the
Batawana tribe, and is rated as Africa’s most beautiful wildlife
sanctuary. Spend your days enjoying extensive game-drives, and two
overnights camping in the Reserve.
DAYS 8 & 9: OKAVANGO DELTA
Travel by charter from Khwai (North Gate region of Moremi Wildlife
Reserve) into the heart of the Okavango Delta. Explore the crystal-clear
channels, islands and waterways by mekoro (dug-out canoe), and enjoy
game-viewing walks on the islands. Spend two overnights at a campsite
in a private concession area.
DAY 10: SAFARI TERMINATES
After breakfast, you will transfer to Maun by charter aircraft where
your safari terminates.
