Botswana & South Africa Safari Client Feedback – by Brett Thomson#

Hi Brett

Just started back at work today so only got e email today. Thanks for organizing a great trip for us.

Our whole trip went fantastically. Chundukwa was a very friendly place to stay and we really enjoyed our experience there – the staff were all very hospitable. It was nice to stay outside of Livingstone and wake up on the water’s edge of the river. Our White water rafting was tremendous – really, really great.

The flights into Kwara camp at Botswana from Livingstone were great – the views magnificent.

Kwara camp was all that we hoped for – animal sightings were great. The staff all friendly and welcoming, the accommodation was excellent as was the food and everything else. Our tracker Sherlock Holmes and the driver moses were superb

Accommodation in Jo burg – good. The tour of Soweto and the guide were great.

Arrathusa – enjoyed a lot. Food and hospitality were all great. No complaints. Different experience to Kwara. Even though more up market than Kwara I feel we enjoyed Kwara the most.

The game viewings at each were all great and different.

We have no complaints in any way shape or form.

We would like to plan another trip back for 2011 or 2012 possibly looking at the migratory route of some animals and following them along as they move. Any advice would be welcome.

Again thanking you for a great experience

Neil and Judy

Namibia Holiday Client Feedback – by Renate Groenewald#

Sun Safaris & especially Renate Groenewald definitely get 5 star’s.

I will would not hesitate in recommending your company to potential visitors to Southern Africa and in fact we already have! Nothing was too much trouble for Renate, especially my numerous changes in itinerary & uncertainty over what car to hire. Thank goodness for Skype. You always answered my questions timeously & efficiently. I have never used a travel company before – I have always preferred to plan & book my own itinerary - but after my experience with Sun Safaris I would not hesitate to contact you again & again.

When we did have a problem at The Stiltz – which was not a fault of SUNSAFARIS – you found us alternate accommodation immediately – thank you.

It was a holiday of a lifetime!!!!!

Nottens Bush Camp Client Feedback - by LiselleRaath#

Dear Liselle

Thanks for the mail, a bit of shock coming back here to the cold, we had snow yesterday and although the sun came out today and melted most of the snow it is still very cold.

We had a great trip, Nottens was delightful, everything about it was faultless, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was great and our accomodation was excellent. We really enjoyed ourselves and yes we did see the big 5, all doing what comes naturally which was a great pleasure, we also had a comedy act from an Elephant trying to get the Amerula fruit from the tree which was so funny even Thomas was laughing.

Our thanks for all you help in arranging this wonderful trip.

Sabi Sands Safari Client Feedback – by Brett Thomson#

Brett,

My safari exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived I was gleefully happy and the smile on my face never left until the day I had to leave. The surroundings were beautiful and the architecture of the buildings blended perfectly within the reserve. It was unpretentious but very classy. The staff was very accommodating, pleasant and polite. I loved my room and the open-beam structural design of the chalet. Sitting on the deck while drinking a glass of wine I watched the nyala and wart hogs roam freely and it was a great and relaxing experience. I will never forget the sweet smell in the mornings.

Our game drives were fun and extremely informative. I never knew one person (our ranger Brett) could keep so much knowledge of plants and animals in his head and be able to recall it at any moment; it was quite impressive. The intimate feeling of the lodge was especially nice. By the 3rd day it was just me and Kris. We did see everything we wanted to and more. There was even a dung beetle outside our chalet rolling up dung. So I could go on and on but you already know the wonders of being on safari. I will return one day in the near future and I will go back to Idube.

I want to especially thank you for getting accommodations for Kris at the last moment and for also getting me out of the reserve via plane. After witnessing the drive going up, I wanted nothing to do with driving back to Jo’burg by myself. Next time I will stay longer.

Also, I was wondering if you could help me get in contact with one of the rangers at the lodge. I need to relay some information about the Florida Keys to him and do not have a contact email.

Again I thank you for your assistance, recommendations, and professionalism.

Kwando Safari Client Feedback – by Brett Thomson#

Hi Brett,

Firstly let me begin by saying a big thankyou for organising such a wonderful trip to South Africa, Botswana and Zambia, everything went smoothly including all transfers and flights.

Arathusa at Sabi Sands, was a really nice lodge and the food was superb. To be honest our room was a bit dated and could do with refurbishment although there seemd to be newer rooms, so next time I would ask for one of those, although the room wasn't a huge issue because we had the best game drives I think anyone could imagine. 4 out of 6 game drives we saw Leopard and there was 3 different ones. Of course we saw all of the big 5 many times over and I would say every game drive we saw 4 of the big 5 which is pretty amazing really. To top it all off we had the most amazing experience, infact our guide said it was the highlite of his carreer. We spotted a Leopard and followed her, she went to an embankement where we parked on the other side and sat and observed her, she was at a den where she had cubs. Whilst we watched her going in and out of the hole she pulled out a newborn cub in her mouth and wondered off into the scrub with it, Our guide said she was going to move her litter, he told us we didn't know how lucky we were to witness this. I will forward a photo, which I showed all the other guides at other safari camps they were very impressed and agreed we were lucky indeed. Arathusa put on a wonderful evening for our wedding anniversery thanks to you for informing them. They had a bubble bath with fresh flowers and lit up our entire rondeval with candles, ready for us on our return from the game drive. Then we had our own private candle lit dinner with champagne, it truly was a lovely evening that they put on for us, very romantic.

We absolutley loved Little Kwara, the managers Jeff and Vera, they were the loveliest people and went totally out of their way to make sure their guests had an experience to remember. Infact all the staff were wonderful, the safari drives were great and we spotted 3 cheetah (3 brothers) which was very exciting as we've never seen Cheetah before. Of course we saw lots of other wildlife, infact the safari camp here is definatley all about the wildlife and your safari drives, there was never a rush to get back for meals or to be back at camp at any specific time. It was really a lovley camp and only having a small amount of guests made it even more special, I wouldn't hesitate recomending this camp to anyone.

Lebala was a bit of a let down after Little Kwara,( I know you recommended somewer else) firstly let me say the rooms are really lovely and the camp itself is a bit more luxurious than Little Kwara BUT this time of year the grass was so high and the spotting was very dissapointing. Also there was only one car out there and we just didn't seem to be able to find much by oursleves in such a vast open area. We asked if they could split us up and send 2 cars but they weren't the least interested in doing this. At the previous camp they split us up. The car had a loud squeeking coming from under it and this got very anoying after a few hours driving I should add we did see spotted dog one drive but we sat and watched them sleeping for an hour until we finally complained and asked to go and look for something else. It was nice to see but sitting in one spot in the sun for an hour watching a sleeping animal is quite boring. I have read some good reviews about Lebala but I would not return and I certainly wouldn't recommend it for that time of year.

Victoria falls was great and we enjoyed the Royal Livingstone, it was very luxurious and had the wow factor throughout the hotel, including a butler service to our room.

To sum it all up everything was great, I would definatley use your services again and will most certainly recommend your company as a highly proffesional and reliable travel agency. Even when we had dramas with a flight (nothing to do with your company) it was such a relief to to be able to contact you on a Sunday and have you take care of the situation by notifiying our safari camp and re-organising our light aircraft flights, We realized then that booking with a local agent has a huge advantage over making arrangements through our own counrty and we felt relieved we had your backup to rely upon.

Thanks alot Brett it really was a pleasure dealing with you right from the start and thanks for organising some lovely surprises for our wedding anniversary very much appreciated.

Kindest regards

Debra Vickers
