Fighting the Canned Hunting Industry - Brett Thomson#

Last night Brett, from Sun Safaris, attended a Reader's Talk held by Africa Geographic magazine. The main speaker was Ian Michler who addressed the audience on his findings into the Canned Hunting industry in South Africa.

It was very informative and anyone interested in getting involved in lending their support AGAINST Canned Hunting can read more here: http://www.ifaw.org/ifaw/general/default.aspx?oid=155693 and http://www.ifaw.org/ifaw/general/default.aspx?oid=17938

Sun Safaris is totally against any form of hunting, even the so called "fair chase" hunting (it's hardy fair if the hunter is the only one with the gun?), and we refuse to sell any hunting safaris.

We focus on advising our guests on where to experience quality photographic safaris, and we encourage as many people as possible to get involved in fighting against the Canned Hunting Industry.

Feedback - Nicola Hampton, UK#

Hi Brett

What an absolutely fantastic holiday, probably one of the best I've ever had.

It's one of the most beautiful countries we've ever seen and the people are great.

All the hotels were wonderful and although we didn't think they could they got better they did as we went along.

Welegelegen the people there were fantastic and tripped over themselves to be helpful, great breakfasts. Augusta de Mist was beautiful in stunning grounds and again everyone really helpful. Hog Hollow is in some of the most stunning scenery, the staff were so very nice and the food wonderful, as well as the room being lovely. Lastly Ecca, that made me cry! Despite it being bloody freezing, I wore 9 layers one day, that many I couldn't bend my arms to put my coat on! It was stunning, fab food and people. The room was stunning and the safari just brilliant. My only regret is that we didn't spend longer there.

Overall South Africa is a fantasticlly beautiful place, with beautiful people and thank you ever so much for organising everything so well for us.

I've told loads of people to use you and we'll definitely be using you again as we're coming back next year, but at least this time I know what we want to do which is a 2 week safari in 2 camps, any suggestions????

Thanks again for all of your help

Kind regards

Nic
