We got home late yesterday afternoon after the most amazing holiday. Thank you so much for organising it so wel. I have to confess i was a bit apprehensive about the lodge being so small but it wasn't a problem. Monwana was a fantastic lodge , run by an amazing couple - C.J. and Carla. The lodge was very homely and welcoming. They had won an award this year for the' best small lodge in africa' (or something like that) The food was incredible the staff couldn't have been more helpful. They even got staff and locals to put on a show on our last  night. We made great frinds with our hosts who managed to get tickets for my husband and son to go to the Tri nations match in Durban last weekend.
 
We had great safari. C.j was very informative and we saw eveything we wanted. Big 5 and more. Some of our trips were quite scary - but they were the best. Sitting in the middle of a pride of lions with there kill. " male lions outside the pride called in the distance and the who pride started to roar. CJ turned off the light. You can't imgine the fear. The kids just loved it and we have some incredible photos. The nice thing about the reserve is they only allowed 2 vehicles at any one sighting.
 
I can highly recommed Monwana to big groups ( up to about 10) and families. We met allot of different people in our 5 days. All families with small children. One family stayed for 1 night only  and the other stayed 2 nights. Although they all saw some game having  days (despite my reservations that it was too long) we saw everything we wanted and really relaxed with no mobile signal or internet. We could have missed a day safari as i thought the kids may do but they didn't want to miss a thing. CJ certainly made it fun!!
