Botswana Safari Client Feedback - by Brett Thomson#

Hello Brett,

Wow, what an adventure of a lifetime!!!!

First of all, all of the logistics were like a fine tuned watch. People were at each “airport” to greet us as planned and we were promptly taken to each of our camps by very courteous, capable, friendly and knowledgeable guides who seemed extremely passionate about their work.

Adam who picked us up at the Jo’burg airport was particularly warm and friendly and very informative as we made our way to the Michelangelo Hotel. Honestly, Jo’burg made us a bit uncomfortable with the huge disparity between the very poor and the wealthy but the hotel was comfortable and a good place to rest up before our adventure. We totally enjoyed the DeWilt Cheetah reserve the next day and it afforded a real nice preview of what our safari experience was going to be like.

Xigera was a perfect start to our adventure. We think that your judgment was right-on with respect to the 3 camps that you selected for us, Xigera, Vumbura Plains and Savuti. Xigera was the most “African” of the places we stayed at, the food, ambiance seemed quite authentic. KD was our guide there and we experienced so many animals and water life that we felt quite satisfied with our first 2 day safari experience.

When we arrived at Vumbura we were greeted by Ona, the most wonderful guide. We totally enjoyed him and were so impressed by his enthusiasm, passion, knowledge and personality. He made our stay there terrific. The facility is outrageously beautiful. We had a gigantic room, even an extra room for additional people if we wanted, our own little pool and outdoor shower……exquisite. The food was top notch and the service excellent. It truly is a magical location and one we will never forget.

Savuti was equally impressive especially since the recent addition of the water arriving to the site. That brought many animals and bird life which formally were further from the camp. Sefo was our guide and was also very good. The staff even brought fish in for us one night since we don’t eat red meat and we thought that was quite extraordinary.

We managed to see all of the animals that we were hoping to see, even were lucky enough to witness two “kills”, (thanks to the amazing skills of Sefo), and have over 1000 digital photographs as a wonderful proof of our terrific journey.

The Royal Livingston was so comfortable and a perfect way to end our trip since we had an extremely long (32 hour) trek home.

Thank you again for your wonderful recommendations and coordination of our trip, we would be delighted to recommend your services to others who are considering the safari adventure.

Most fondly,
Fred and Carol Gans
