World Cup ticketing, scheduling approved

THE Fifa organising committee has finalised the pricing for World Cup tickets.

Tickets have been divided into four categories, with category-four tickets being sold exclusively to South African residents. The tickets will be priced on average around US$139 (R948), ranging from US$20 (R136) for a category-four ticket for a group stage match to US$ (R6 134) for a category-one ticket for the final. Tickets will go on sale in several phases from February next year.

The matches will kick off at 13h00, 16h00 and 20h00. Group stages will have three matches per day, except for the opening day, when there will be two and during the final round of group matches, when there will be four. All teams will have three rest days between their matches.

The opening game and final will take place at the Soccer City stadium in Johannesburg. Each stadium will, however, have at least one match with a top-seeded team.
