Our safari to South Africa- Client Feedback

Andrew & Gill got to see some of the best on offer on their Safari to South Africa, from the Big 5 in Kruger to the whales and winelands of the Cape.

Natasha sent them to the Cape Winelands, staying at the beautuful Majeka House, then along the whale route to the coastal town of Hermanus. Here they stayed at the Hermanus Beach Villa. They finished their safari off in the Kruger National Park at nThambo Tree Camp.

Here are their comments:

Hi,

Apologies for taking so long to reply. We’re back at work now & wishing we were still in N’Thambo (or Hermanus or Cape Town or Stellenbosch………)

In short, we had the most incredible time and loved every minute of it.

Unfortunaetly we didn’t get to Robben Island as all the tickets had gone on the day we wanted to go, but we took a short boat trip from the waterfront anyway, and we had the boat to ourselves! We couldn’t go up Table mountain as the cable car was closed for winter maintenance, but we enjoyed Cape Town all the same. The restaurants – Fork & Beluga & the curry night in the Hilton were all superb, as was lunch at the Greek Fisherman on the Waterfront.

Hermanus was amazing, and the B&B was very nice. Excellent hospitality and the Southern Right Charter trip was unbelievable. The Ilios driver kindly drove us to Stellenbosch via Franschoek, which would have been even better if the weather had been better, but we had a pleasant journey anyway, and Tabi the wine guide ( she was from Ilios too, I think) did a fantastic job. We had a brilliant day – she was such a lovely lady!

And then N’Thambo! What a time we had there! We got on very well with the other guests who were there & the staff – Isaac & Luan, plus Lily back in camp – were brilliant.

On our 1st afternoon game drive we saw elephants (including calves) and a white rhino; not bad for starters!  Next morning elephants again – different ones – and in the afternoon 2 adult male lions.  The following morning we saw our first buffalo – 4 of them, so only leopards left of the Big 5! So in the afternoon, shortly after another rhino encounter, not 1 but 2 leopards within 100 metres of each other.

And if you include everything else – the birds of course, flowers and small mammals etc, etc, etc then it’s fair to say the visit exceeded our expectations by a long way. We were very lucky, of course, but your recommendation of N’Thambo played a big part in all this, for which we sincerely thank you.

The road trip to Joburg was interesting for a couple of hours, but then got a little tedious. We would probably fly from Huitspruit to Joburg if we are ever lucky enough to return.

We took over 1200 photos & a host of video clips which I’m very pleased with, so we have some great reminders of our fantastic trip. I’ve attached a couple so you see what I mean.

Thanks again for sorting it all out for us.

Kind regards,

Andrew & Gill
