Ibo Island is a virtually untouched and unknown to the outside world; situated in the Quirimbas Archipelago inside the Quirimbas National Park in Northern Mozambique. The Quirimbas National Park is one of the most important and biodiverse marine regions in the world. It contains an abundance of very rare species such as the sea turtle, dugongs and humpback whales. Ibo Island has been described by many as one of the most beautiful and romantic islands in the world.

Ibo Island Lodge Description

Ibo Island is a possible World Heritage Site and therefore the rooms have been designed to incorporate the original architecture and style of the old buildings. Ibo Island Lodge offers magnificent views over the bay and into the National Park. The rooms are simple, yet elegant and facilities include en-suite bathrooms with twin basins and large marble showers. Some have baths and outside showers, the rooms have air-conditioning and ceiling fans, large windows, King size extra length hand crafted beds with mosquito nets, a chest safe with lock, a linen gown for use whilst on the island, a range of Ibo guest amenities, hair dryers, water flasks as well as morning tea and coffee. Ibo Island Lodge has two swimming pools set in tropical gardens. There is a lounge where guests can relax or enjoy afternoon tea, a dining room as well as a roof terrace restaurant with an open-air lounge area for after dinner drinks under the stars.

Ibo Island Lodge Activities

Guests have a choice between many activities on and around the island including swimming, snorkelling, kayaking, scuba diving, sailing, fishing and sunset cruises. Guests can also go on a guided historical or cultural tour. Guests can also indulge in Ibo's massage treatments for complete tranquillity.
