Introduction

Situated in the Amakhala Game Reserve, Reed Valley Inn offers fantastic game viewing and spectacular views on a tranquil working farmyard which is separate from the main homestead. The Inn was purchased in the late 1800s by Jabez Weeks, Rod and Tracey Weeks are now the fifth generation on Reed Valley which has now become a part of the Amakhala Game Reserve.

Lodge Description

Reed Valley Inn consists of four historical en-suite rooms, each with a country feel. The Inn sleeps a maximum of 8 guests and has a central lounge area, a classic pub and a swimming pool. Each room has a separate entrance on to a private patio. The rooms are serviced daily and offer tea and coffee making facilities. Children of all ages are welcome. The food at Reed Valley Inn is superb. Each morning a hearty breakfast is enjoyed before setting off to discover the beauty which Africa has to offer.

Game Viewing

Amakhala Game reserve offers breathtaking views and is home to an incredible array of wildlife including rhino, elephant, cheetah, buffalo, giraffe, black wildebeest, zebra, tortoise and well over 16 antelope species. Experienced and knowledgeable rangers will accompany guests on all game activities, providing them with in-depth information about the region and its inhabitants. For guests seeking relaxation at its best, a slow cruise down the Bushman’s River can be enjoyed. Exceptional bird viewing and sightings of game drinking at the river's edge can be enjoyed while canoeing down this very river. Guests are also given the opportunity of lion sightings in the famous Shamwari Game Reserve, situated next to Amakhala Game Reserve.
